Lior Frenkel is an Israeli composer and guitar player. Frenkel studied classical and jazz composition in Holland and Israel.
His first and most known project was the theatrical rock band Hot Fur. Hot Fur's wild, expressive, theatrical performances combined music, theater, dance and art, and was considered by the press as:
"The Best thing that happened to Israeli music in years"
Aviv Ron, 5.4.2001, ynet.co.il
"The are no bands in Israel like Hot Fur"
Ben Shalev, Hai'r, 19.2.1999

In 2008 Frenkel moved to Berlin and formed his current group "Lior Frenkel's Band", combining a live ensemble (E.Guitar, E.Bass, Drums, Saxophone, Trumpet, Vocals) and a computer, triggered by the drums, playing a combination of new compositions and some of Hot Fur's music.
In 2010 the band released its first EP - "Intellect", from which the single "Intellect" played on Berlin and London radio.
Frenkel's music covers many styles, from rock, jazz, ska and funk, to classical, repetitive and modern composition, with rhythmic and funky bass lines, structured poly rhythmic melodies and punchy and crazy brass sections, creating the distinctive, multi-colored sound unlike any common genres.
Beside his live bands, Frenkel also composes electronic music and has written film scores for several short films.
